Iceland – Tröllaskagi Peninsula

The Tröllaskagi Peninsula is a fantastic territory for ski touring. Located on the north coast of Iceland, this peninsula is a succession of valleys and peaks between 800m and 1400m. The small glaciers crowning these mountains are magnificent promontories overlooking the Eyjafjörður fjords, which open into the Atlantic Ocean. The slopes tailored for skiing offer a variety of inclinations and reliefs that can satisfy everyone. The spring ski days will often end with pleasant natural hot springs, the result of Iceland’s extraordinary volcanic activity. Your base camp will be a comfortable inn in Siglufjörður. The presence of 2 high mountain guides familiar with these northern latitudes for 10 to 12 skiers allows us to offer all participants quality supervision. In short, the 6 days of skiing will be a great discovery of these vast wild lands at the end of the world.

Skiing the Toubkal

The Moroccan Atlas is little-known destination for skiing. Yet this part of North Africa benefits from constant good snowfall. We discover beautiful slopes ideal for skiing but also the warm welcome of the Berbers. Many summits over 4000m will be on our itinerary: Biguinoussene, Afella, Akioud, Ras, Timzguida and of course Toubkal. The competent team of our partner El Houssain, a renowned local guide in the Imlil region, will welcome us and handle the logistics (cook, muleteer, mountain accommodation, transfers).

KAMCHATKA VOLCANOES

The Kamchatka Peninsula is the easternmost part of Russia. The occasionally active volcanoes of Mutnovsky, Vilyuchinsk, Avachinsky and Koryaksky overlook the Pacific Ocean. The approaches are made by snowmobile, Ratrak or 6×6 Rover. This is where we will ski among the hot springs in late April.

FREE-RANDO in AROLLA

Arolla (2010m) is a paradise for freeride and free-rando, not at all extreme. Two ski lifts provide access to wild descents down to the typical hamlets of Satarma, la Gouille or Lana. On the other side, the wide glaciers of the Pigne (3848m) are also accessible. The Hotel Kurhaus *** will be our base, with a ski-in/ski-out location. Helicopter drop-off option available.Duration: 4 days
